![]() Any consumables and equipment are considered in stasis and unusable.The character can use up to two different weapons (like a longsword and longbow), and can't use any other weapons.Aside from magic items that raise stats or give simple +x bonuses, an offline character can only have one magic item.Each character is then made into a simplified "offline" version that's more akin to a monster statblock than a character sheet.The DM is sent a picture of each character sheet so they can extract the basic information (race, alignment, AC, stats, HP and so on).Each player picks an archetype they want their offline version to be (rogue/fighter/mage).Well, having looked over the sidekick rules in Tasha's, they seem like a pretty good solution to this issue by using them to create "offline" versions of player characters. Oh will the struggles of DMing never cease? What to do? You'll maybe have to rebalance encounters on the fly, move important plot points, or maybe cancel the session altogether.
